When a rendition of this post first appeared, it included a discussion of the personal touch. When making the move from site -retail to the internet one thing was of concern. Retail was one big course in human relations. Success in retail involves creating repeat customers from casual visitors. Transferring the personal touch that brought success in the store was a goal for the website. Developing success into your business will involve creating a social web site. Create a site people will want to come back to. Part of my preparation is 18 years site-retail.
Being good on the sales floor did not come after 1 day. Having worked at J.C. Penney for 18 years has introduced all kinds of situations from every kind of person. It is now second nature to deal with anything. Expect your internet business to become better with time. Remember the acorn. Never be dismayed if overnight success does not show up. In time, you will be successful. Part of your preparation may be experience with people.
Learning the computer was almost an accident. Several years ago, my Brother-in-law built us a small home computer and this business started to develop. Had the personal computer been around, Computer Science not Management would have been my major at Eastern Illinois University. The personal computer was not around until later. Learning the computer took some time. Mastering a website will take some time. Acorns grow into oaks. You can prepare yourself for the opportunities before you.
Building my marriage has been ongoing for over 30 years and it is still strong. Developing success takes time. Developing success takes commitment to the future. Begin your business and watch your acorn grow. Your life experience can help prepare you for the opportunities before you.
Why do we expect someone else to make our internet business an overnight success, and us overnight millionaires? Internet business is a tremendous way to put people back to work. That is what it will take, for any bold enough to give it a go, work.
